U13 Almondsbury V's Alvechurch

A bright start saw Almondsbury put a few good passing moves together
lookingvery neat and tidy but without the cutting edge to carve out a
chance.

Alvechurch were much the bigger side and took advantage of a lack of
concentration to open the scoring. The match was keenly contested with
Almondsbury playing bright football but struggling to match the physical
presence of Alvechurch who were also a good footballing side.

Alvechurch netted a second before the break to go 2 up. Unfortunatey for
Almondsbury they were uable to break through a strong midfield and defence for Alvechurch and again the second half went similarly to the first both sides good in possession but Alvechurch wit ha better cutting edge and a fine strike from outside the box brought their third. Almondsbury battled on gamely to the end but the final score was 3-0 to Alvechurch. Goals were scored by Jamie Lee Smith (2) and Tom Higgins (1).

Everyone did their best and we played some good football and their manager and linesman commented that Histon and ourselves are the best footballing sides in the league but lack the physical presence (frustrating results wise as this has been said so many times but a tribute to the excellent coaching the boys are getting and hopefully one day we will grow!!!)
